Brides, Don’t Work on your Wedding Day

The biggest mistake that I have seen over the years is brides asking family members and friends to work and help coordinate activities and setup on wedding day. Not to mention brides who are designing their own flowers and decor on wedding day. What are they thinking? Often brides feel as if this will save them money and also that their family and friends are more than capable of handling the details for setup on wedding day.

I believe this is the biggest mistake that a bride can make in her wedding planning. On wedding day, while the bride is busy getting her hair and makeup done, getting dressed and having photos taken, her family and friends are running around trying to pull it together. They are not experts at planning a party of this caliber and definitely get distracted by other family and friends talking to them while they are supposed to be at work.

Brides, do yourself a favor as well as your family and friends. Don’t work on your wedding day! And don’t make your family and friends work on your wedding day. They are your guests. Let them enjoy the day as well. Hire a trained wedding planner who does this every weekend. Your wedding planner will be able to coordinate your set up, make sure your wedding vendors are progressing as scheduled during the day and implement your vision for your wedding day.
